Stephany Joy

Born & raised in Pasadena, I started my real estate journey when I moved to the Sierra Foothills at 17. My partner & I purchased five beautiful rolling acres, with the most amazing oak trees, and a janky old cabin with an out house. It was heaven, my "Little House on the Prairie" dream. I taught myself how to grow food and take care of farm animals. I rode my bike to the local JC and got my nursing license. Once a nurse, I had the income to orchestrate the building of a new home. Little did I know at the time, these experiences were shaping my real estate knowledge.

Years past and the ocean was calling, so we relocated to Humboldt Co. and built a home in Arcata. When my girls were small, I decided to switch careers and become a real estate agent. It was great to have control of my time. I was able to volunteer in my girls classes and be more present in their day to day activities. As a single parent of a toddler and a new baby, being a Realtor just worked for me.

I enjoy working with buyers and sellers. My business is mostly referred and repeat clients. After 25+ years in the industry, I am still learning new things about people and houses. I love educating my clients and helping them make informed decisions. I get calls from past clients all the time asking for a good plumber, roofer, house sitter, etc. They know they can call me for sound advise. Some of my dearest relationships formed from real estate transactions. It's an intense experience and can be full of twists and turns. I take pride in being a calm guide to a successful sale.

I love living in Humboldt County. Some of my hobbies include hiking, biking, kayaking, agate hunting, art and music. I'm a member of the Humboldt County Search and Rescue Team, I serve on the board of directors of Arcata Playhouse and volunteer for Cal Poly Humboldt Center Arts and other non-profits. Humboldt has been good to me!
